Nothing like using the property of God’s church to do evil.
Kari Baker died in May of 2006. Evidence presented in Baker’s murder trial this past week proves that he visited 12 different sites on the internet as early as March of that same year seeking out ways to cause death with an overdose of medication. As late as three days before Kari’s death, he was still studying this subject as he logged onto eleven such sites again.
STUPID . . .

The thought that crosses my mind is that Baker was really undecided as to weather or not he really wanted to do this. I mean, if you want to murder someone by say putting an overdose of sleeping pills in their nightcap, how many times do you need to look it up and read about it? I’m thinking twice, maybe three times, but not over two dozen times. have to wonder if he was battling with his conscience. There is that commandment that says “Thou shalt not kill.” I feel this man really wrestled with this, but possibly did not make the right decision.
The prosecutor is also using the actions of Baker after his wife’s death as evidence in court. Only two weeks after Kari’s death, at a birthday party thrown for one of the five Baker children, many guests noticed that every photograph of Kari was not only hidden from sight, but replaced by photographs of another woman. This very woman was in attendance and questionable physical affection between Baker and this woman was witnessed by many. And to top it all off, an email from a hotel in Fiji to Baker congratulating him on his engagement and confirming the reservation in June, 2006 of a honeymoon suite was also presented as evidence in the trial.
It’s not looking real good for the (apparently NOT-SO good), Texas minister. The evidence is stacked against him and we still have yet to find out the verdict.
Guilty or not guilty? If he is innocent, he chose to do research on overdosing with sleeping pills at a really bad time. If he is guilty, how foolish can a criminal get? Talk about dumb things criminals do!
I think we can all surmise from this dramatic situation that the internet can be a two edged sword when dealing with things of a criminal nature. The criminals can find many ways to fine tune and improve their illegal professions. But they should always keep in mind that those that fight crime can also use the internet to catch them, prosecute them, and send them to prison.
MAKE A NOTE: If you have devious intentions, be careful what you click on for you can never truly delete your search history! And also, the good guys are always watching you long after you forget. Just ask former President Bill Clinton, former MO governor Matt Blunt and accused child killer Casey Anthony.
